Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Vision Source of Hays a proud provider of vision care products and services in Hays.
Dr. Mark Wahlmeier
Dr. Mark Wahlmeier graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of General Science degree and completed his doctorate at the University of Missouri-St Louis College of Optometry.
Dr. Wahlmeier provides a variety of eye care services including comprehensive routine exams for glasses and contacts, evaluations for diabetics and other medical conditions, and glaucoma testing and management.
He has been practicing for 22 years in Colby, KS and is excited to make this transition to Hays to be close to family. Dr. Wahlmeier has four children and two grandchildren whom he adores, and enjoys following them in all of their activities.
Kayla Satomi
Kayla is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Biology degree. She works as an assistant and tech at our office, enjoys working with patients and learning new things about optometry.
When she isn’t at the office Kayla is usually traveling and trying different foods. “Working here has given me a real appreciation for my sight, traveling wouldn’t be very fun if I couldn’t see new things.”

Tonya Stover
Tonya was born and raised in Western Kansas and is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and major in Finance degree.
She brings with her over 20 years of experience in sales, management, leadership and a passion for helping others.
Tonya enjoys spending time with her two children, Josie and Colton, and is proud to be their biggest fan.
Kellyn Eck
Kellyn was born and raised in Colby, Kansas and joined the team as an optician. She recently graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Communication Science and Disorders degree, and fell in love with the community.
Kellyn enjoys interacting with patients, styling new frames, and helping others with all their glasses needs.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, all things outdoors, and drinking lots of coffee with good company.
Josie Stover
Josie was born and raised in Norton, Kansas, and joined our office in 2023 as a technician. She is currently a junior at Fort Hays State University and is studying Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Josie loves to help people and wants to make sure our patients get the best care they can. During her free time, Josie likes to hang out with her friends and just relax.
Carrie Myers
Carrie was born and raised in Colby, Kansas, and graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree, and is now working towards her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology.
She works as an assistant at the front desk and enjoys welcoming patients into the office. Carrie loves learning the different aspects of the office and getting to know the patients. When she is not at the office or studying, she enjoys going on long walks and spending quality time with her friends and family.
Amanda Wahlmeier
Amanda is a Fort Hays State University graduate, and spent many years in the classroom teaching various ages and subjects in Colby for the last 20 years. She made the transition to optical when she moved to Hays and loves helping patients find the right frame and lenses for them.
She and Dr. Mark have 4 kids and 3 grandkids, and one more on the way. She loves her family, her friends, time at the lake, a cup of coffee, chocolate-covered almonds, and an occasional glass of wine.
Peyton Wahlmeier
Peyton attends Fort Hays State University and will graduate with a degree in biology next year. You can find him in the optical at Vision Source doing whatever is needed. He is the master at adjusting frames and keeps the back office organized and running smoothly.
